Hopes for Bowling's Olympic future remains dim

The "Programme Commission" recommended to the IOC Executive Board that bowling should not be included in the Olympic Games.

In short, the commission believes that bowling doesn't increase the value of the program over the sports already on the program. Although they did recommend Golf and 7 vs. 7 Rugby. With Golf's ratings on the decline and threats of boycotts over club membership restrictions, I'm unsure how they see that will "increase the value."

The fat lady hasn't even begun to sing though. The final decision is to be made by the executive board in November when the IOC will hold a Special Session in Mexico City. There they can choose to ignore the recommendations of Programme Commission.

Keep watching BowlingFans.com as we will have a full story soon.
