Not good

Tonight I brought Mom to the Colchester Lions Charity Auction in the hopes of cheering her up. She really enjoys auctions and this one is usually particularly good.

At the very beginning of the auction, with the first item put up, she landed a winning bid on a beautifully carved, maple finish oak rocking chair for only $40. I estimate that it would go for around $250 in any antique store.

I bought some perennials and annual flowers that were donated by Clausen's Nursery. I plan to use them to fill out the backyard garden.

After the auction I took Mom home and carried in the rocker for her. There were several messages from Hans (grandma's husband) saying that grandma want to speak with Mom as soon as she got home. So we immediately called and spoke with her. She just kept saying how much she loved us and I could only think from what she said and how she said it that she was saying goodbye for the last time. I hope I'm wrong.
