You must be looking for a desktop replacement... 8.6 pounds? Holy crap! lol I never carried my Inspiron 5100 around it was only 7.1!

Looks cool, though. Does Sager manufacture laptops for other companies because I've never actually heard of them until you started mentioning them...

I only use my laptop at work and in bed, I rarely have to bring it anywhere else so I don't mind the weight or the size. What's most important for me is I have the same power I have in my desktop so I can do video editing and play C&C Generals.

Clevo manufactures for Sager and Sager resells to L (www.go-l.com), VooDoo, Hypersonic, and a few lesser known brands. Clevo also manufactures for HP, Dell, Gateway, Emachines, Toshiba; practically everyone.

hi i am also geting the sager 8790 but i have to wait for the cpu i want the persscott but i dont know if the north wood is better because teh persscott is new and my have some probloms what should i do this is my frist laptop ever

Run, don't walk, away from the Prescott. The current precotts (the ones that will ship next quarter) have major performance issues and run very hot. Those problems might be corrected by the time they ship, but the biggest issue with them will still remain. That is they use a lot more power than a Northwood processor and in a laptop that isn't that bright of an idea.

I ordered my 8790 today and expect it to arrive on Thursday. I am concerned about the 17" LCD. I had a chance to look at the 17" LCD on the HP at a local Best-Buy and they look a bit "dull". Any idea who manufacturs the LCD for the Sager? Is it the same LCD on the HP?

Its the same screen as on the Apple Wide-screen notebook, whatever its called.

I'm not that surprised. I've only heard bad things about expressnotebook. Should have used PCTorque (www.pctorque.com) they take care of their customers and put them first.
