A flashlight to rule all other flashlights II
Back in April I posted about the Coast LED Lenser V2 Tactical Power Chip Flashlight. This weekend I noticed that Lowe's is now carrying an updated version called the Coast LED Lenser Tactical Focus Flashlight.
Once I held it in my hands and turned it on, all I was able to say was, "WOW!"
It features a focusable prism reflector which prevents dark spots when moving from concentrated to wide beam. The LED is 1.25-watts and Coast claims it outputs 60.2 lumens. In my estimation its at least twice as bright as the V2. Reflecting it off of a 9' or 12' white ceiling, lights an average sized room. When focused to a narrow beam you can brightly light distant objects.
The light is turned on/off with an easy to push button on the back that locks in an on or off position and also allows momentary bursts so you can signal Morse code.
Coast claims that the Tactical Focus Flashlight has 85 hours of battery life! It is powered by 3 AAA batteries and two sets of batteries are included. A nylon belt case, lanyard, and a carabiner clip is also included.
If you don't have a Lowe's near you it is available on Amazon at varying prices from various third party resellers:
