No Punishment Is Tough Enough For Vick
If there is one good thing to come out of the allegations against Michael Vick is that it's bringing public condemnation for this vile sport. One can also hope it will force law enforcement to follow up on leads and investigate dog fighting more rigorously.
The NFL's hesitation to not take immediate action and separate themselves from Vick is shocking. Every NFL advertiser should get on top of this right now by publicly pressuring the NFL to take immediate action before everyone turns their attention to boycotting NFL advertisers. Some fans and respectable groups are already doing it.
Nike has suspended a planned shoe release but they haven't yet completely severed ties with him. I can say I'd boycott them since I never buy or wear a POS Nike shoe anyway. But, keep their lack of action in mind the next time you are buying shoes.
Boycotts aside, what punishment is proper for Vick? Sitting in jail doesn't seem like enough, unless he's going to be beaten nearly to death on daily basis. Even then I'm not to sure it's an adequate punishment. Same goes for people that commit violent crimes against people.
