Slowly Getting Back Up To Speed

Things are starting to get back to normal here and I'm trying to get back to posting on a more regular basis. Unfortunately, I never got away and went on a vacation as I hoped to. Between the construction, all my other obligations and also being knocked down repeatedly by a lingering cold and cough there simply wasn't any time for blogging. I'm still not at 100% but I'm feeling well enough and also have a moment to string together a sentence that should at least make half sense. ;)

Throughout this and everything else going on I did however manage to finally move all my sites to a new dedicated server hosted by WebAir. What a difference! Pages load quick and I'm not constantly dealing with MySQL problems. But, it didn't happen without problems and hurdles to overcome. Thousands of paths had to be updated on pages and in script configurations. Many scripts had to be updated or reinstalled. It was a ton of work.

While on this subject, I want to take a moment to thank WebAir for their assistance throughout the move. Everyone I've dealt with on their staff has been professional and very responsive. I've been able to speak with their knowledgeable techs via phone and IM and received instant help and immediate results. With AIT I used to often wait DAYS for just a reply by email and it could take weeks for them to finally solve my problem, if at all. More often than not it was never resolved to my satistfaction. The differences between AIT and WebAir have been night and day and it feels wonderful to finally say goodbye to AIT!
