I'd also advise using imified (it's a jabber, msn, aim or yahoo bot that allows you to interact with other web services, one of them... twitter).

I set up my shortcuts so that when I'm chatting, if I'd like to add something to twitter, I just type in

/twit 'the message'

And that's that.

Excuse the self-promotion, an addition to the web apps/mashup list:, lets you set up automatic/scheduled twitter updates using your blog's rss or atom feed.

Thanks for pulling together this great list. I am new to Twitter and just getting my feet wet so to speak. It's nice to know that there is a community that supports and helps to develop and advance the technology. It demonstrates that where there is a need or a demand for something people will rally round the cause.

Did you forget TwitterFox? That's what I (and a lot of people) use.

And Twhirl!
