Google Reader Updates, Still not a Digg Killer

Google Reader got quite an update but it's still not where it should be. If only the Reader team would take this app a little further and add the Digg killing features.

At least Trends has finally made it to the menu.

They also added a cool beta feature to allow you to read your items offline. I've played around with it a bit and it keeps saying I'm offline when I'm not. It also doesn't store images that are in feeds and that's a pretty big oversight. It's worth checking out and playing with if you don't have a lot of image heavy feeds like I do.

A search box is still missing but Martin Porcheron discovered that some css has been added which looks like it may be for a search box. You'd think Google would have had search in Reader by now! Hell, how did they launch it without one in the first place?!
